As a design firm, we consider all the work we do to be in pursuit of leaving the world a bit more beautiful than how we found it. However, on a deeper level, we cannot ignore the damage being done to this wonderful planet that we call home, particularly by our own industry. In 2018, Zoe was spurred to action by the IPCC’s Special Report on Global Warming. The report included alarming evidence that discusses the potentially irreversible damage being done to our oceans, rainforests and other important ecosystems. Because of this, we have decided to donate our consultation fees to charities we feel are advocating for the future of our planet. You can view who we support below.
As a small business, we’re well aware of the feelings of inadequacy and the limitations to resources that we feel can truly make a lasting difference. However, we’ve chosen to move past the insecurities and commit ourselves to making an impact, no matter the breadth, as well as do all we can to influence others to do the same. We are empowered by the idea that our small but mindful steps can impact the trajectory of the global climate.
As a team of professionals, we pride ourselves on the fact that our clients rely on our design expertise to create spaces that can be enjoyed for years to come. With this top of mind, we consider it our duty to thoughtfully serve our mission of incomparable style while simultaneously implementing green practices into each project.
Our team maintains a spirit of curiosity that grants us the ability to reimagine vintage pieces, repurpose client’s existing items and recommend a variety of products and companies that have aligned themselves with positively impacting the environment around us. In addition, we are diligent in facilitating the process of reducing waste and donating unwanted materials to those that can benefit from giving them new life.
We also realize that our responsibility extends beyond our clients. The path to executing our designs is a paper- and cardboard-ridden one, thus prompting us to take a look at our own studio and consciously making moves to reduce our own carbon footprint. We’ll continue to keep this top of mind by aligning ourselves with organizations that commit themselves to restoring and protecting our planet (like Amazon Smile in support of 350.org, one of our charities), implementing proper recycling methods into our day-to-day routines and keeping ourselves educated on the advancements and trends that are shaping the green initiative worldwide.
